If Alex Rodriguez needs any more hints, Jennifer Lopez should be concerned!
The 48-year-old recently released her new Spanish single, “El Anillo,” which is all about ladies who are ready to get an engagement ring from their man. She opened up about the tune on Wednesday’s Tonight Show, telling host Jimmy Fallon about the meaning behind the song.
“Alex, are you watching? Hello!” Fallon quipped.
“No pressure!” Lopez added, laughing. “The song is definitely about that, it is, but I felt like it was kind of something that all women get to a point where they say, ‘Ok, what’s up?’ [points to ring finger] Like, we’re good, everything’s great, what’s going on? Am I staying or am I [going]?’”
Lopez, who has been married three times, noted that she doesn’t think it takes long to figure out if your partner is the one.
“I feel like you know fairly quickly, so the rest is just you being scared and whatever,” she said. “But don’t go by me! I’ve made tons of mistakes.”
The couple recently walked the red carpet at the Met Gala together, marking one year since their public debut at the same event. And while they looked sharp in their high-fashion ensembles, Lopez said it’s all about sports when they’re at home.
“It is baseball day and night, night and day,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Baby, what time you think you’re going to be home?’ He goes, ‘Well, right now I’m kind of in the seventh inning of the meeting.’ He’s like, ‘Keep your head in the game!’”
She also broke it down on the dance floor with Fallon, busting out fast moves to slow jams.
Lopez opened up about another celebrity proposal earlier in the day on the Today show when asked about 2 Chainz proposing to his girlfriend, Nakesha Ward, at the Met Gala.
“I think I would want it to be a tiny bit more intimate,” she said when asked if shed’ like something similar. “But you know what, this is amazing, I’m sure she had a Cinderella moment.”
