The singer/songwriter also indicated that he knows the answer to one of the pop world's greatest mysteries: Who bit Beyonce?
Do you remember your child's first "Beyonce?"
John Legend does. He revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday that his adorable almost-2-year-old daughter, Luna, recently said the name "Beyonce" for the first time. And the circumstances couldn't have been more appropriate.
"She had a milestone yesterday, she said 'Beyonce' for the first time. She said 'Beyonce,' I was like, that was Luna's first 'Beyonce,' I feel like I should write it down in her baby book," Legend told DeGeneres. "We were listening to Lemonade in the car."
"That's adorable. Has she said 'Ellen' yet?" DeGeneres deadpanned.
"Not yet. but if I say it to her, she will say it back," Legend responded.
"Please get that on tape," the host said.
Luna is going to be a big sister soon, as Legend and wife Chrissy Teigen are readying for their second child, a boy.
"We're due very soon," Legend told DeGeneres. "We have number two on the way and I don't know what to expect really, because I don't know how Luna's going to be at sharing and being a big sister. I don't think she grasps exactly what's going to happen, but we'll see."
DeGeneres then pivoted to perhaps one of the biggest mysteries in pop culture today.
"Does Luna know who bit Beyonce?" DeGeneres asked.
"She does not," Legend said, chuckling.
The mystery of who bit Beyonce at an L.A. after-party following a JAY-Z concert in December continues to baffle fans and famous friends of the singer alike. Tiffany Haddish is one of a select group of people who claim to know the answer, but apparently signed a non-disclosure agreement barring her from revealing it.
But word appears to be trickling out, and while little Luna doesn't know the answer, Legend said he and Teigen do.
"There was a party and Beyonce got bit on the face and Chrissy knows," he said.
But don't get too excited. "We know who it was and we're not talking about it," Legend added.
