The Los Angeles County Sherriff's Department confirmed to ET that the 24-year-old singer was involved in a “light fender bender” around 9 p.m. on Friday night in West Hollywood, California, and that no report was taken.
An eyewitness at the scene said the accident took place across from Shamrock Social Club on Sunset Boulevard. It's unclear how the collision occurred, but the eyewitness believes it happened while Bieber was merging lanes.
“Justin ran over to the other car and talked to the driver immediately and cops arrived shortly after,” the eyewitness said. “Justin seemed relatively calm but very attentive to the driver, checking if they were okay.”
The eyewitness added that the tail end of Bieber’s car, a blue Mercedes G-Wagon, seemed fine, but the front end of the other car was pretty messed up. The eyewitness left before seeing if Bieber was able to drive off in his own car.
This isn't the first time that Bieber has been involved in a car collision. In July, he struck 57-year-old photographer Maurice Lamont in Beverly Hills after leaving a church service at The City Church. A spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department told ET a few days later that the photographer was at fault for the collision and that Bieber wasn't being charged or cited for the accident.
A source told ET that Bieber "knows everything he's doing is going to get out," and his night out with Champion was totally intentional.
"[Gomez is] off having fun with her friends and so he’s showing that he can still go out and have fun too. And to be honest, I’m sure there’s a part of him that wants to make Selena a bit jealous!” the source added.
