The wait is over.
Karol G’s sophomore album, OCEAN, is officially here. The 28-year-old singer spoke to ET ahead of the album's release and revealed that it’s her most intimate project to date.
"My album is everything for me. I have been working so hard for more than a year," she told ET exclusively during a private interview at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. "I just want to show what I have in my mind. I have different sounds...I don't want to be just that girl that sings reggaeton or trap music."
"I want to be that Latin girl doing big things around the world," she added. Karol has garnered over 2.3 billion combined streams to date. "So, that's my bet with this album. I have, like, different collaborations [catering] to different markets. I have a Brazilian and [English] song on my album. So let's see. I want to take that step, being a Latin girl, and doing my Spanish music, but I want to go global. International."
The album consists of 16 songs including super hits like "Mi Cama," "Culpables" featuring her fiancé, Anuel AA, and "Créeme" featuring Maluma along with collaborations with Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley, Yandel, Simone & Simaria, Nicky Jam and J Balvin.
Karol, who is currently ranks as the No. 1 Latin female artist in the world, revealed there’s one collaboration that’s still on her bucket list.
"I would love to perform with Rihanna. That's one of my biggest dreams," she said. "Please, Rihanna, if you're watching this, please call me. I have a song for you."
"And, even if we cannot perform it together, just call me and say 'Hi,' because I'm going to die," she added. "I have you tattooed on my arm."
The Colombian beauty also shared what it’s been like to collaborate with Anuel as well as embarking on a joint tour across Latin America together.
"That's the most beautiful thing that is happening to me right now because we are celebrating everything together," she said with a smile. "He is in a good moment in his life, and I'm probably in the best moment of my life. Going together on tour, we're celebrating what we have done."
