Jenna Ortega tackles a role like none before in her new drama, ‘The Fallout.’ The 18-year-old actress opens up to ET’s Deidre Behar about her conscious decision to transition from Disney star to mature roles with her latest part as Vada: a high school student who survives a school shooting and explores drug use and sexual experiences through her grief and trauma. Jenna says she feels lucky to have her fans growing up alongside her and joining her on the journey. She also talks about her new film in depth, and reveals what it was like filming scenes where her character is under the influence or engaging in a physical act. Although Jenna says it’s awkward for her friends and family to watch, she’s grateful for their support and credits them for helping her achieve career success. Jenna also shares the ‘ticks’ she unintentionally picked up as a result of playing Vada. ‘The Fallout,’ directed by Megan Park, premiered March 17 during the SXSW Film Festival.
