Any Muggle who knows what a "Muggle" means has dreamed of riding alongside Harry Potter and his pals on the Hogwarts Express. In January, Universal Orlando Resort uncloaked the details on The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley, opening this summer. Now, we have details on what parkgoers will experience during the real Hogwarts Express ride between "London" and "Hogsmeade" -- and this thing is going to be a lot more fun than just a simple train ride.
The brand-new details:Harry Potter fans will get to relive the same classic journeys Harry made
aboard the iconic Hogwarts Express with an actual train ride dusted with plenty of wizardly magic (thanks to live special effects, lifelike
animation and state-of-the-art technology) -- and two
completely different experiences for each direction. Once seated in their cabin, guests can enjoy a magical adventure right outside their window: They'll see Hagrid come alongside the train on his flying motorbike, Buckbeak the
Hippogriff swoop gracefully over the black lake, the Weasley twins on brooms and up to their usual antics, the
Knight Bus swerving through London traffic -- and other fun surprises. Once they arrive at London's King's Cross Station, they can pass through the iconic brick
wall archway from the films into Diagon Alley to find the bustling, wizarding hub of shops, dining experiences, and a new ride: Harry Potter and the
Escape from Gringotts.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley will launch this summer within Universal Orlando's second theme park, Universal Studios, with all-new experiences based on the Harry Potter film world's signature areas of London, Diagon Alley and Knockturn Alley. The new Hogwarts Express ride will connect between the new Diagon Alley attraction and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Hogsmeade (which opened in 2010 at Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park) for guests with park-to-park admission.
