Vin Diesel Hopes 'Fast 8' Makes Paul Walker Proud: 'You Pablo Have Given Me Strength'

Vin Diesel is doing it for Paul Walker.

The Fate of the Furious star shared a throwback photo and moving message to his late friend and co-star -- who died in a tragic car crash in 2013 -- as the eighth installment of the iconic film franchise approaches.

"The arduous road to production, the challenging task of filming this latest chapter," the 49-year-old actor shared on Instagram. "The record breaking trailer debut and the shocked world at what the dark road implied... you Pablo have given me strength... purpose and resolve."

"I promised you we would make something you would be proud of and I pray that we have," Diesel added. "Miss you. Family above everything!"

Diesel recently opened up to ET's Carly Steel at Brazil's Comic-Con about what his life's been like since Walker's death.

“We’ve felt the loss,” Diesel said of him and his co-stars. “The last three years have been some of the hardest of my life because of losing my brother like that.”
