Listen: Sugarland Concert Catastrophe 911 Call
In the wake of the tragedy that befell Indiana State Fairgoers this past Saturday, ET has obtained the 911 calls concerning the horrific tragedy before the Sugarland concert.
In the audio clips, a concertgoer swiftly contacts law enforcement it what seems to be just moments after the incident took place. Subsequently, two more callers phone in the emergency due to the dire circumstances.
As fans awaited a performance from Sugarland at the fair, extreme winds caused the stage to crash down, resulting in five deaths and over 40 people injured. Since then, the band has released a statement on their website in which the group extended their sincere condolences as well as other plans.
"We have taken a couple of days to try and even begin to emotionally process the magnitude and gravity of the tragedy in Indiana on Saturday," the group said in the statement. "We are in the process of planning a private memorial in Indiana, to honor those fans who died."
In addition to their private vigil, the band plans on hitting the road again, starting with their scheduled show in Albuquerque this Thursday, August 18th.
