It's never too late for love.

Singer Susan Boyle, who skyrocketed to global fame after flawlessly singing "I Dreamed a Dream" on Britain's Got Talent in 2009, just revealed that she's in the early days of a new relationship with an American doctor.

Boyle, 53, famously claimed that she'd never been kissed when she first appeared on the reality singing competition.

Now, in a new interview with The Sun, Boyle reveals that she met her new man during her recent six-week promotional tour of the U.S. for her sixth album Hope, at a luxury hotel in Florida. Calling the doctor -- who hails from Connecticut -- the "perfect gentleman," she also describes a lunch date between the two.

"It’s early days but we enjoy each other's company," Boyle says. "We just got talking in the hotel and I thought he seemed friendly enough. He wasn’t a fan but he knew who I was. He invited me out for lunch the next day, we had a nice chat and spoke about lots of things including our careers."

"He was the perfect gentleman and even paid the bill," she adds. "Afterwards we exchanged details. When we said goodbye he gave me a peck on the cheek."

Boyle, who's based in Scotland, has hope that the two will continue a long-distance relationship.

"It's very early days so we'll see what happens. I hope he comes over," she says. "I don't want to say any more about who he is right now as that would be unfair on him. All I'll say is we are around the same age and he was a very nice guy."

Boyle, who was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome -- a form of autism -- last December, admitted earlier this month that she's still learning how to deal with her mood swings.

"Off stage, [my bad behavior] happens lots," she told the Daily Mail. "It always has. But I'm getting better at dealing with it because I know what it is. If I feel I'm going to take a mood swing, I get up and leave."

"People with Asperger's do put a barrier up because they don’t know how to trust people," she said candidly. "I try not to. I want to let people in."
