The presidential hopeful's wife has a funny story about the King of Pop.

Donald Trump's wife, Melania, reveals a funny moment she had upon meeting the late Michael Jackson.

In a new interview with Dujour magazine, the 46-year-old model shares how her life changed when she married the 69-year-old businessman in 2005. "I met Michael Jackson," she recalls. "It was here in New York in the Pierre Hotel. He called us, so we went over and we had dinner."

Melania almost shared more than a meal with the King of Pop. "Just after dinner, we were chatting on the sofa and my husband went into another room to see some art somebody wanted to show him," she continues. "Michael said to me, 'Hey, when Trump comes back, let's start kissing so he will be jealous!'"

Melania didn't go through with the smooch but admits that she and Michael were "laughing so hard."

As the wife of a presidential hopeful, Melania comes in contact with people of power and influence often, but says she doesn't always enjoy the limelight. "When you walk in a room, everybody knows the person. Sometimes people see you with that man and maybe they know more about the man, and they judge you or see you differently," she says. "You need to know who you are and you need to be very secure. You need to stand up for yourself. You need to have your own yes and no."

And with her husband still in the running for the highest office of the land, Melania has a real shot at becoming the first lady of the United States. Even back in 1999, the future Mrs. Trump was entertaining the idea of living in the White House. "If it comes that I need to take serious, I will take serious, and I will do the best job that I could," she told ET. "I will put all my energy, all my power, everything in that, and I will serve the people if it comes to that."
