Turning 40 has the celebrated country crooner thinking about his future, and what's important to him in the years ahead.

"We finally finished my house in Nashville," Bryan said. "[Now] I just want to sit at my piano at the house and write songs and watch my boys swim and play out on the farm."

In terms of his career, Bryan said he just wants to make sure he's "in a good place and havin' fun," and always pushing himself to "try new venues."

"I think the day you don't wanna roll the dice on something or go a little bit outside of your norm, I think that's kinda when you get a little stagnant in this business," he explained. "The main thing for me is just to focus on enjoying [life] and being happy and trying to be a better singer and writer, every day."
