“It makes me sad -- I would just like to be here long enough to have my children grow up and for me to see them thriving,” Kidman, who also has two children (Connor and Isabella) from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise, said on CBS Sunday Morning. “That’s all I ask. And that my husband and I are with each other. Simple! Simple requests.”
Asked why the idea of her children getting older makes her so emotional, Kidman responded, “Just wanting to be here. I’m an older mother, so, you know…”
“Oh, please [let me be here.] Please, please,” she continued. “But, hey, what will be, will be.”
Loving motherhood, the 49-year-old Australian actress relishes her downtime in Nashville, Tennessee, where the famous family is based.
Both Sunday and Faith, her children with Urban, were born in the country music town. “My little girls are Southern girls -- they say, ‘Y’all,’” Kidman shared.
Understandably, the idea of not being around to watch her children grow up may be weighing on Kidman’s mind even more following the death of her father, Dr Tony Kidman, in 2014.
