'The Addams Family' Is Returning to the Big Screen and the Trailer Is 'Spooky and Kooky'

Take at peek at the film's wonderfully macabre first trailer!

Everyone’s favorite lovable ghouls are returning to the big screen!

On Tuesday, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer dropped the official first teaser for its animated remake of The Addams Family, offering a glimpse at the fun to come -- including explosions, insect outbreaks, vengeful trees and so much more!

Early on, the clip showcases the heads of the family, Morticia (Charlize Theron) and Gomez Addams (Oscar Isaac), taking a peek inside a Victorian home featuring a gate bearing their name, which has been left in shambles. When they make their way down a long hallway, an insidious voice growls, "Get out!"

She proclaims, "It’s hideous!" Gomez replies, "It’s horrible!" Then, together, they cry, "It’s home!"

In another scene, the couple discover their daughter, Wednesday Addams (Chloe Grace Moretz), holding a string attached to a red balloon. She explains that she doesn’t know exactly what it is. That’s when Morticia states, "Strange, there’s usually a murderous clown attached to the other end of these."

This is the first time the delightfully frightful family has returned to the big screen since Addams Family Values in 1993, the sequel to the 1991 live-action adaptation based on Charles Addams’ cartoon strip and subsequent TV show.

The talented cast of voice actors also includes Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Allison Janney, Joaquin Phoenix, Karen Gillan, Alec Baldwin, Beck Bennett, Sarah Paulson, Elsie Fisher and Bette Midler.

The Addams Family creeps its way into theaters on Oct. 11, just in time for Halloween.
