Bethany Hamilton lost her arm in a shark attack at age 13, but still achieved world success as a surfer. Now she's appearing on The Amazing Race.

Bethany Hamilton lost her arm in a shark attack at age 13, but didn't let that stop her from achieving world success as a surfer. Now, she and her husband Adam Dirks are taking on a new challenge -- competing on The Amazing Race, and they're previewing the action for ETonline.

Bethany faced unique challenges on the Race due to only having one arm, but she tells ETonline, "Watching the show before going on the Race, we kind of strategized and we knew there would be teamwork for a lot of it. ... Sometimes you read the clue and you don't really know what you're doing until you actually get past the clue, and then you see what you're doing, and you're like, 'Oh my gosh!'"

And if you're wondering if we'll see this adorable couple squabbling on the Race, don't count on it. Adam, who has worked as a youth minister, says, "It wasn't too bad. We did go through a lot of stressful times and that's something we knew going into the Race, so we were going to prepare for that mentally. We're probably going to be at odds with each other, or maybe we're going to be mad at each other. But really, we handled it super well. Part of who we are is our relationship with Christ, and he gives us a heart of forgiveness."

Watch the video to find out the one thing Bethany is afraid of, and tune in to the season premiere of The Amazing Race Friday night at 8/7c on CBS.
