One minute, Frank Shankwitz is a motorcycle cop struggling with a difficult past and emotional childhood trauma, and in the next moment he's almost killed in a freak car accident on a long strip of desolate highway.
This stark and shocking incident sparks a chain reaction that puts Shankwitz on a difficult and painful path towards redemption that leads him to meeting a terminally ill little boy, and ultimately sets the stage for Shankwitz founding the life-changing Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The biographical drama Wish Man examines the dark and light sides of Shankwitz's life, and his eventual creation of the iconic organization.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation has gone on to grant wishes for more than 450,000 children in 50 countries worldwide since its inception in 1980.
The creators of Wish Man are also hosting a contest asking fans to share a story about a hero who made a difference in their life, and three lucky winners -- as well as their heroes -- will be invited to attend the World Premiere on June 4 at the Egyptian Theater. Click here for details.
Wish Man -- starring Andrew Steel, Kirby Bliss Blanton, Frank Whaley, Danny Trejo, and Bruce Davison -- hits theaters June 7.
