'Moana 2' and 'Wicked' are both currently slated to hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2024.
Moana 2 and Wicked are gearing up for a box office showdown later this year, and Auliʻi Cravalho is sharing her thoughts on how her film might fare.
At Saturday's 2024 Screen Actors Guild Awards, Cravalho, the talented actress known for her roles in Moana and Mean Girls, caught up with ET's Nischelle Turner in a conversation that touched upon her iconic roles and the much anticipated Barbenheimer 2.0.
Clad in a stunning pink flowy gown accessorized with a gold-sparkled choker and a matching purse, Cravalho couldn't help but joke about her purse, saying, "I know, makes me wanna take a bite. I can't, but it makes me want to."
She amusingly pondered whether it resembled an apple or a pomegranate before revealing that it barely held much, leading her to resort to the "old hack" of tucking her cell phone into her shirt at one point.
Taking a moment to reflect on her journey, Cravalho expressed immense gratitude for the enduring legacy of her projects.
"You know, everything comes down to good bones," she remarked. "I'm so grateful to Tina Fey and her crazy mind that can make something like 'fetch' iconic for generations to come."
Cravalho, who was born in 2000, highlighted the longevity of the original Mean Girls film, released in 2004, and its continued cultural significance.
Transitioning to her Disney princess role in Moana, Cravalho praised the studio's exceptional writing team. "Disney has some excellent writers in there, shout-out to Jared," she said, acknowledging the collaborative effort behind the beloved animated film.
Expressing excitement for the upcoming Moana 2, Cravalho shared her admiration for the film's star, Dwayne Johnson, describing him as "so lovely" to work with.
As the conversation turned to the box office showdown between Moana 2 and the Broadway sensation Wicked, Cravalho remained humble and appreciative of the opportunities she's had. While the competition might be fierce at the box office, Cravalho's focus remains on the joy of bringing beloved characters to life and the impact they have on audiences worldwide.
