Chrissy Teigen is not afraid to speak her mind, even if it's in front of a bunch of politicians.
The 33-year-old model and her husband, John Legend, attended the House Democratic Issues Conference as part of the House Democrats' retreat at Lansdowne Resort and Spa in Virginia, and spoke about being against President Donald Trump and letting it be known on social media.
"Chrissy was ahead of the curve on making fun of Donald Trump. She knew before a lot of people did that he was a joke and a con man and a clown," Legend said of his wife, according to The Hill and multiple news outlets.
The Hill reports that when asked by political commentator Melissa Harris-Perry, who was acting as a moderator, what she thinks women should say more, Teigen quipped, "F**k you." Agreeing with his wife, Legend responded, "Preach."
The couple also boldly stated their views on Trump's previous policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the Mexican border -- a policy that has since been discontinued -- and noted why we need to have moments of laughter more than ever now.
“When it comes from people like Ivanka, I will say, that can post all day pictures of her children that are just in her home and ‘Oh, my daughter is having trouble in her crib’ or ‘My daughter is doing this’ and ‘My daughter is doing this,’ there are children out there that don’t have that opportunity,” the mother of two said, according to The Hill. “There are children that are completely … honestly, I cannot fathom for a second how scared our children would be if they were without us.”
"We need the comedy to cover up the pain. ...That’s our ‘ha-ha’ as we’re crying inside,” Teigen later added. “It’s laughing through the pain.”
As for which of his songs Legend would suggest as a playlist for the House Democrats, the 40-year-old R&B singer replied: “Glory,” “Fight the Power” and “Preach.”
