No one was more surprised by her big GRAMMYs win for Best New Artist than Dua Lipa herself!
The 23-year-old British powerhouse was in tears and completely shocked as she took the stage to accept the honor, with her acceptance speech getting cut slightly short due to time.
So when ET’s Kevin Frazier caught up with the visibly emotional singer right after she exited the stage, he gave her the opportunity to finish her thoughts.
"I didn’t really expect it. And although I imagined that moment probably my whole life, I was petrified when I went up on stage,” she tells ET. "There were so many people I wanted to thank.”
Most important on that list, she happened to remember during her speech.
"My fans, always my fans. I know I thanked them tonight, but I need to stress that again, because they’ve really given me this opportunity,” she says. "It really takes an army, and I’m so grateful to have the support that I do. And to be British and to have that recognition, it just blows my mind.”

Noting that her “brain just went on total meltdown” the moment she took the stage, Lipa again addresses the impressive women in this year’s category.
"I think that’s so important and it’s such an honor to be alongside so many amazing women that I love and I look up to,” she says. "It’s so cool to be on this journey with them."
It just shows that even superstars can be nervous.
"It is electricity that goes through my body. Honestly, it was just, I… I don’t know. I was shaking like a leaf, as you can tell,” she says. "I’ve had a little bit of a tough time trying to get my words out. But I’m beyond honored and ecstatic and grateful for this crazy moment in my life that I can never replicate that feeling ever again.”
