Spoiler alert! The following contains spoilers for the season 2 premiere of The Mandalorian.

<a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/the-mandalorian" target="_blank">The Mandalorian's</a> second season kicked off on Friday with a few major surprises -- and two head-scratching cameos!

Things&nbsp;picked up where last year's season 1 finale left off, with the titular Mandalorian,&nbsp;Din Djarin (<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/pedro-pascal" target="_blank">Pedro Pascal</a>), on a mission to deliver&nbsp;The Child (aka Baby Yoda) back to the rest of his kind&nbsp; -- whoever they are, whatever they’re called, wherever they may be.

In search of help from his fellow Mandalorians, Mando&nbsp;gets a tip that one has been spotted&nbsp;on the familiar planet of Tatooine, in a small town called Mos Pelgo. Upon arriving in town, Mando is confronted by someone wearing armor familiar to any Star Wars fan:&nbsp;It's Boba Fett!

Except, it's not. The man&nbsp;removes his helmet to reveal himself as a man named Cobb Vanth&nbsp;-- a character bibliophilic&nbsp;Star Wars fans know from Chuck Wendig's Aftermath trilogy. Vanth, played by none other than Deadwood hunk <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/timothy-olyphant" target="_blank">Timothy Olyphant</a>, reveals that he’s not actually a Mandalorian, but wears&nbsp;Boba Fett's&nbsp;armor after "buying it off some Jawas."

Mando demands a duel with Vanth over the armor, but first they have to team up to slay a giant, sand-dwelling Krayt Dragon with the help of some Tusken Raiders. The deal is, if they are victorious, Mando gets the armor back.

Thankfully, after some serious battling, they are -- and Vanth turns the armor over to&nbsp;Mando, who departs&nbsp;on his sand speeder, with the twin suns setting in the horizon. But the biggest mystery is still to come, as viewers see the&nbsp;silhouette of a man, standing on one of the dunes, watching intently: It's Boba Fett?

Maybe. What we do know is, it's actor&nbsp;Temuera Morrison, who&nbsp;played Jango Fett in the prequel films. In Star Wars canon,&nbsp;Jango's&nbsp;DNA was used to create the clone trooper army, as well as Boba Fett. So, while there is a very small possibility this is another character -- a rogue clone soldier, perhaps, or an unknown Fett family connection&nbsp;--&nbsp;it’s pretty unlikely.

But it's also pretty unlikely that it's Boba Fett, who should be 40 years digested in a Sarlacc belly by now....right?

At The Mandalorian premiere event last year, ET's Ash Crossan asked co-creator <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/dave-filoni" target="_blank">Dave Filoni</a> if it’s possible Boba Fett survived the Sarlacc pitt.&nbsp;"I mean, there's always possibilities," he said. "I don't like to limit our storytelling in any way, and you know, who knows?&nbsp;I've been surprised."

"It would be really hypocritical for the guy that&nbsp;helped bring Darth Maul back to life after he got cut in half to say somebody can't survive a Sarlacc pit, but I don't know," Filoni added.&nbsp;"I mean, anything's possible in Star Wars, and I always think, when fans love something, that's what really fuels the possibility and the believability."

If it is in fact Boba Fett,&nbsp;how&nbsp;did he get out? What has he been up to for the last few decades? And what's he got to do with Mando's mission? Fans will have to keep watching to find out. This is the way.

Why you would bring a date along to a work retreat is beyond us, but the combo of Spade and Lapkus along with comedians Nick Swardson, Sarah Chalke, Jackie Sandler and Rob Schneider are enough to entice us to check out this raucous comedy.

Why We Love It: Okay, we’ve got to be honest: The Great is pretty damn great. This satirical, comedic drama is all about about the rise of Catherine the Great, from outsider to the longest reigning female ruler in Russia's history. The Hulu original series describes itself as “an occasionally true story,” but the series’ stars,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/nicholas-hoult" target="_blank">Nicholas Hoult</a> and <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/elle-fanning" target="_blank">Elle Fanning</a>, are consistently fun to watch.

DC’s Stargirl

Where to Stream: <a href="https://www.dcuniverse.com/clip/29969d04-f12f-437c-bffb-7934673b062c/" target="_blank">Series premieres&nbsp;May 18 on DC Universe</a>.

Why We Love It: Now that all of The CW’s Arrowverse series are off the air until January 2021, DC’s Stargirl is here to fill that superhero void in your heart. The series follows Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), who discovers a mysterious cosmic staff and becomes the inspiration for a new generation of superheroes. (FYI, it’s the Justice Society of America!) <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/luke-wilson" target="_blank">Luke Wilson</a> also stars as Courtney’s step-dad, Pat, who used to be a superhero sidekick back in the day for Starman, played perfectly by Joel McHale.

The Big Flower Fight

Why We Love It: If you love The Great British Baking Show, get ready, because your next obsession is blooming! In this reality competition, 10&nbsp;pairs of amateur gardeners from around the world push their skills to the limit as they compete to create stunning, supersized floral sculptures. This show is mind-blowing -- you’ll never believe the art these florists are able to create in such a short amount of time!

Sweet Magnolias stars <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/joanna-garcia-swisher" target="_blank">JoAnna Garcia Swisher</a> as Maddie, an instantly likable mom of three, whose small-town world gets turned upside down when her husband cheats on her -- and then leaves her for his new pregnant girlfriend, played by <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/jamie-lynn-spears" target="_blank">Jamie Lynn Spears</a>. Swisher recently dished to ET that she’s thrilled by all the small-screen comparisons for Sweet Magnolias. “Gilmore Girls is just one of those shows that tears at my heartstrings. I love it so much it makes me cry,” she gushed. “So yes, I would be grateful to be included in that sentence.”

Why We Love It: “What’s your favorite scary movie?” Hold the phone, because this week we’re talking about the 1996 hit,&nbsp;Scream. This gory, R-rated horror film was groundbreaking at the time: It was a slasher flick that successfully crossed over into the mainstream, spawning three sequels and one of the most iconic killers in movie history. (Not to mention&nbsp;it’s the movie that inspired an entire generation to spring for caller ID!)

Here’s a killer fun-fact for you: The final scene in Scream took 21 successive nights to shoot! If that doesn’t make you feel “a little woozy,” then we suggest you lock the windows, pop some Jiffy Pop and settle in for a Scream marathon this weekend. Just don’t answer the phone!

Why We Love It: We love a comeback story and Capone could be just that for director Josh Trank. The Chronicle director makes his return after 2015’s much-disdained Fantastic Four with this new passion project. Tom Hardy stars in the <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tom-hardy-transforms-into-al-capone-in-first-trailer-for-gangster-biopic-watch-144972" target="_blank">biographical crime flick</a> as notorious gangster Al Capone, following his final days as he succumbs to dementia after an 11-year stint in prison.&nbsp;

Spaceship Earth (2020)

Where to Watch:&nbsp;Available now on&nbsp;<a href="https://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=BDq0JwVSVig&amp;offerid=669019.8&amp;type=3&amp;subid=0" target="_blank">Hulu</a>.

Why We Love It: While documentaries have been on trend lately (see: <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/tiger-king" target="_blank">Tiger King</a>), Spaceship Earth delves into a often-forgotten and quirky blip in early '90s history known as Biosphere 2. The experiment placed eight volunteers in a self-engineered replica of Earth’s ecosystem, where they remained isolated and quarantined for two years. The project was a media circus at the time (one that inspired the Pauly Shore comedy&nbsp;Bio-Dome), but director Matt Wolf seeks to uncover an unbiased truth about the experiment using archival footage, new interviews with its subjects, and quite a few surprising cameos.&nbsp;

Why We Love It: If you love <a href="https://www.etonline.com/people/mark-ruffalo" target="_blank">Mark Ruffalo</a> -- who doesn't?! -- then this is the show for you, because, guess what? He’s playing TWINS. Based on the bestselling novel by Wally Lamb, the series centers on Dominick trying to look out for his schizophrenic brother, Thomas, after he's committed to a mental health facility. Here’s what’s really wild about this series: Mark shot the first 17 weeks of the series as Dominick and then production shut down for 6 weeks so that Mark could gain 30 pounds to play Thomas. This series will definitely win Mark an Emmy or a Globe -- but it’s not exactly a light quarantine binge.

What to Stream This Weekend: 'Dead to Me' on Netflix, 'High Fidelity' on Hulu, 'Twilight' and More!

Warning: This story contains spoilers from the series finale of <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/the-clone-wars" target="_blank">Star Wars: The Clone Wars</a>.

It's been 15 years in the making, and now, we close the chapter on <a href="https://www.etonline.com/tv/the-clone-wars" target="_blank">The Clone Wars</a> with a final four-episode arc that unfolded like a standalone movie in and of itself, catching up to the tragic ending of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Darth Sidious' execution of the Jedi-annihilating Order 66.

The Clone Wars originally ran for six season from 2008 to 2014, before it was unceremoniously cancelled -- only to be <a href="https://www.etonline.com/star-wars-the-clone-wars-revived-after-2013-cancellation-106328" target="_blank">revived in 2018 for one last season</a>. Now, the final episode, "Victory and Death," is streaming on Disney+, revealing exactly how Ahsoka Tano survives the events of Order 66 and concluding with a Darth Vader moment that is sure to provoke a million fan theories. (Yes! Clone Wars went full-Vader!)

To help us with our much-needed post-finale therapy, executive producer, writer and supervising director, <a href="https://www.etonline.com/latest/people/dave-filoni" target="_blank">Dave Filoni</a>, spoke with me about bringing the Clone Wars saga to an end once and for all.

ET: This has been so many years in the making, coming down to this very heartbreaking four-part finale. How are you feeling overall now?

Dave Filoni:&nbsp;I feel good. I feel pretty relieved. [Laughs] It is a big deal for me and for everybody that worked on it over the many years. I think you realize what it means to people. These fans that grew up with Clone Wars really were on for the long haul and watched as the show evolved and went from being something pretty simple in its early days -- that we wanted to get better -- and now I think we've finally realized the full potential of the show. It feels good to complete it.

What would you say the biggest challenges were for you wrapping up this story? Because it aligns&nbsp;with this moment in Star Wars history that a lot of fans are very familiar with.

A big challenge, honestly, was just trying to recharge my brain to the entire Clone Wars era. I had been in it very, very deep from 2005 all the way through when we finished it the first time. You have so much information going on. There are so many ways the politics of that time period are important for what's happening in the story. When I went to do the finale -- and I always wanted it to be right alongside Revenge of the Sith -- I had to go back and remind myself of all these moments and make sure that we're not violating anything, that we're not changing the outcome of anything, that things are happening in the right sequential order.

Something as simple as, "Well, who does know about the existence of Darth Sidious?" There were a lot of choices that I made around the storytelling in just that character. One of the keys to telling a story in the prequel time period is that Darth Sidious is almost always a character in the background. Whether he's actively in the episode or not, a lot of things that are happening are happening because of his machinations. He is very much the Phantom Menace throughout the entire storyline of the last four. It was intended that if you have never seen any other episodes of Clone Wars, these four episodes should be enjoyable on their own. That impacted the way I wrote it and the outcome. Yet if you have seen [the show] and you are a Star Wars fan, it should reach a level that's much more immersive for you than just the casual viewer.

How did your plan for this final season change from what you originally thought it would be versus what it ended up being?

There are just things that I couldn't help. I had no idea when we were making Clone Wars that I would ever make a show called Star Wars Rebels. All of those characters and all of those events and the way that I wove Ahsoka and Rex into that story really affected this one. People don't know but some of the original versions that we batted around with this story didn't always have it coinciding with Revenge of the Sith. That's just story evolution. There are many things that happen along the way.

And I'm glad where it went. The only downer, I think, is that for as on the edge I hope people are, they would have been triply so if they'd never seen Rebels. And yet I think writing Rebels and being a part of that show with all the people I worked with there really helped make this version of Clone Wars better. As did working on Mandalorian. You just improve as you go. Had we done this years ago, it wouldn't be nearly as good as it is now.

I gotta talk about that lightsaber battle between Ahsoka and Maul. To see the behind the scenes and learn that Maul was a combo of Ray Park and Sam Witwer was so epic. What was it like for you putting that together and starting to see the combination those two form together?

That's one of those things that you go, "This would be really neat," but you don't know how it's going to be pulled off. We had dabbled in motion capture a long time ago. There's actually some other motion capture in this series -- I mean, there's literally one shot in the other six season that was motion captured and it's one of the Wookies in the "Padawan Lost" arc -- but that type of data tends to be so dense that it's hard for a show like ours to animate to. Well, fast forward many years and technology has improved a lot. ILM had been developing a lot of tools and when I was working on Mandalorian, I was doing a lot of pre-visualization in motion capture. So I was much more familiar with the technology than I was back when I did Clone Wars.

I had seen Ray at a Celebration, so he was very fresh on my mind, and I had talked to Sam about when they did Maul in Solo and what that orchestration was like. I just found it all very interesting and thought, Here's a really rare situation where Sam's such a big fan and has such a respect for Ray, and Ray, obviously, he is Maul, the heart and soul of it. And our animators have always done a great job with our lightsaber fights, but I wanted to find a way to make this last one more special than it had been. Just watching Ray perform, there's a speed there and an intuitiveness that is hard to replicate. So we all went down to the mo-cap stage at Lucasfilm and Ray came in and Lauren [Mary Kim] came in and delivered a fantastic performance.

Ray was so fast at certain spins and stuff that it would break the tracking. It just couldn't track him. The lightsaber would fly out of his hand, virtually, because it couldn't keep up with him. It was a really fun time...I had the floor taped off with all those girders that they were balanced on and I said, "You can only step on these lines," and that just gave this really precarious sensibility. But once you have that virtually, [director Nate Villanueva and I] could take the camera and go under the virtual floor and do all these up angles and get shots that would have been very hard for us to get otherwise. It was just an awesome experience, and I'm glad that people seem to have really enjoyed it.

I know you have conversations with George Lucas. I'm curious if he has seen the finale?

I haven't talked to him about that, so I don't know. Maybe! Who knows? He's a very busy guy, you'd be surprised. He's up to so many things, but his mind, he's so creative and there's always avenues that he's exploring. But I haven't talked to him for a little bit now. I'm sure we'll talk eventually about it. He's thrilled. He loves that we brought it back to do the finish and he likes seeing a lot of that work finding a way to be expressed, finally.

I want to talk about a spoiler. The final, final, final scene of Clone Wars took my breath away.

Oh, good!

It reminded me of towards the end of Rogue One, where you don't expect this thing to happen and then you hear [Darth Vader's breathing]. Oh my God, the chills! Can you talk about putting that scene together and the idea of actually including the fully-formed Vader in the show.

That's an idea that I've had for a very long time. As I went over different ways to end the show, that was always one of the options I had. Ultimately, since Star Wars is a saga about the Skywalker family and Anakin plays a large role in the Clone Wars but also in Ahsoka's life, I felt that if you watch the four parts, as much as Sidious has this hidden layer of character arc in the episodes, so does Anakin. I wanted to draw a full arc for him where if you've never seen Star Wars, you hopefully will be able to understand that the young man that Ahsoka is very good friends with, that's like a brother to her in the beginning, that the villain Maul says, "Hey, he's going to turn out to be this bad guy," in the end you see that, well, that was actually unfortunately true. The through line is the lightsabers that he worked on for her. There's this symbolic arc of Anakin underneath that all.

I mean, I know why I did that and what it means, but I don't like to explain too much. I love for the viewers to watch stuff and come up with their own theories -- and they frankly come up with better things that I intended. But it's a way to have his character expressed without violating anything that happened in the films. It doesn't change anything about Vader. But it helps bridge into the work we did in Rebels, and you can see that whole arc. One of the tragic things for me is that, in her friendship with Anakin, must like him, Ahsoka is going to deny what certain truths might be and not accept certain things because they are terrible. All the way through Rebels, you see that she is not willing to accept what this truth is, even though it's eventually staring her in the face.

It was a nice way to bring a shape to the whole series, that shows you a subversive thing about what the Clone Wars was really about for Anakin, how [Ahsoka] found her way through it intact -- which is what I believe -- and just show that the clones, for all their character and all their individuality, by the end also you have storm troopers walking around who are completely devoid of it. Everything is bleached out. Everything is pretty stark. Everything's washed away color-wise, which is what George did it at the end of Revenge of the Sith. A lot of things I do are just ways of taking what George did and reasserting them, enhancing them, showing that this is what his half of Star Wars is about, ultimately, and how the heroes will prevail through it, despite all of the wickedness of the enemy.

The last moment between Anakin and Ahsoka broke my heart. A lot of times in TV and movies, you know it's the final moment and it's really, really somber. And yes, it was a special moment, but I almost got the vibe of like, "I'll see you later!" And us as viewers realizing that wasn't going to happen, that broke my heart more than anything.

It's a unique situation, because if you know Star Wars, you know so much about what's going to happen and it can make things bittersweet. For the actors, for Dee [Bradley Baker] and Ashley [Eckstein], I had to keep telling them. "You know it's going to happen, but they don't. For this to be successful, you've got to get in that headspace." Because there's no awareness. The hope is this is all going to be over soon. The hope is we're going to get through this. And especially for Anakin, that things are going to get back to normal. He likes the way things are. He's a hero and he's got everything going for him.

The one thing that I felt strongly about was that she's in a different place in life. And he never quite fully gets that when he's with her again, that leaving the Jedi order and meeting Trace and Rafa, those adventures have made an impact on her. I always likened it to the story team as it's like when you leave school for the summer. When you're a kid that summer feels like forever and when you come back, so many things feel like have changed and a lot of your friends feel like could change. You know these people fondly, but it can be awkward at times because that fondness and familiarity seems a bit off when they've made changes. I think a lot of what Star Wars does really well is relates to that everyday life that we have so that the galaxy far, far away feels right down the street. It did to me, especially growing up, and I've just always tried to keep that alive in the work I do.

I could listen to you talk about Star Wars forever. Speaking of Ahsoka, there have been casting rumors percolating. Do you want to see her in a live action world? Do you think that could happen?

Why We Love It: Need something nostalgic to put on your "kick-butt video screens"? Amid the goldmine of Disney Channel Original Movies available to stream on Disney+, 1999's&nbsp;Smart House&nbsp;should top your list of throwbacks. LeVar Burton (yes,&nbsp;Reading Rainbow's&nbsp;LeVar Burton) directed this DCOM classic starring Ryan Merriman and Katey Sagal about an artificially intelligent house that starts to adopt the habits of a 1950s TV housewife. It was a can't-miss movie back in our childhood, but now&nbsp;when you watch this movie today, it's delightfully disturbing&nbsp;with just the right amount of&nbsp;nostalgia.&nbsp;

What to Stream This Weekend: 'Outer Banks' on Netflix, 'Smart House' on Disney Plus and More!

WARNING: Spoilers from the first episode of&nbsp;The Mandalorian incoming!&nbsp;

The first episode of The Mandalorian dropped on Disney+ at various times between late&nbsp;Monday night and early Tuesday morning -- and now fans who&nbsp;managed to pull an all-nighter to catch a glimpse of the first-ever live-action Star Wars show are&nbsp;wildly speculating about that ending and what it could mean!&nbsp;

In the debut episode, the as-of-now nameless Mandalorian (Pedro Pascal) embarks on a high-stakes, high-paying bounty from The Client (Werner Herzog). The Client gives The Mandalorian very little information about his bounty, but tells him “the asset” is 50 years old and is preferably wanted alive, but will accept him dead for a lesser bounty (much to Dr. Pershing’s chagrin).

Knowing that the events of The Mandalorian take place a few years after Return of the Jedi, fans racked their brains with known original trilogy&nbsp;characters who could potentially fit these parameters, but now we know the answer.&nbsp;

The asset is… a baby Yoda?!

Disclaimer: this is not&nbsp;actually&nbsp;Master Yoda as a baby, but Yoda's species does not have a known name.

The confused Mandalorian is reminded by bounty droid IG-11 (Taika Waititi) that other species can age at different rates. Mind you, Yoda was 900 years old when he died about five years earlier in Return of the Jedi.&nbsp;

Why is this a big deal? Yoda's unnamed species is ancient, mysterious and extremely scarce. There have only been two instances of this species in the&nbsp;Star Wars&nbsp;films, the first being Yoda, and the other being Yaddle, a female member of the Jedi High Council who appeared briefly in&nbsp;The Phantom Menace. Until this point, Yoda was generally believed to be the last of his species.

The power of this adorable 50-year-old baby is unknown, but likely immense. He was well protected when IG-11 and The&nbsp;Mandalorian arrived at his safehouse-like location, Kuiil&nbsp;(Nick Nolte) mentions that many bounty hunters have passed through, IG-11 seemed to be there on a separate bounty with intent to kill, The Client appears to want to rid the galaxy of its potential, while Dr. Pershing seems intent on studying him for science.&nbsp;

Of course, the baby Yoda reveal opens&nbsp;up a lot of questions like, did Yoda&nbsp;know&nbsp;about this baby? When Yoda spoke to Force Ghost Obi-Wan about there being "another," could he have actually been referencing baby Yoda? Is Yoda related to this baby? Did Yoda and Yaddle have a fling? Did Yoda&nbsp;have&nbsp;a baby? What does this mean for the future of&nbsp;Star Wars?

These questions and more remain to be seen -- and luckily, we won't have to wait long for the next piece of the puzzle. Chapter 2 of&nbsp;The Mandalorian&nbsp;drops on Disney+ on Nov. 15.&nbsp;

After the MCU-set&nbsp;She-Hulk&nbsp;series&nbsp;<a href="https://www.etonline.com/marvel-announces-ms-marvel-moon-knight-and-she-hulk-disney-series-131107" target="_blank" title="Marvel Announces 'Ms. Marvel,' 'Moon Knight' and 'She-Hulk' Disney+ Series">was announced at D23 last month</a>, online fan-castings and support quickly poured out for the Brooklyn Nine-Nine&nbsp;star to take on the titular role -- and she's in!&nbsp;

“I would die to play that role,” Beatriz told ET’s Brice Sander at NBC’s Comedy Starts Here event on Monday night. “That is so flattering. That is one of the best characters in that universe.”&nbsp;

Not only has Beatriz heard the online musings about her taking on&nbsp;She-Hulk, she might have started a bit of training for the role -- you know, just in case.&nbsp;

“I definitely have upped my workouts since reading some of those things,” said Beatriz, adding, “But also, [I think it would] be really exciting for fans to see some of these characters that we kind of decided are one thing, to sort of be imagined in a different way.”&nbsp;

A fan-favorite character introduced in the ‘80s, Jennifer Walters is both Hulk and lawyer. In the comics, she acquires a version of Hulk abilities after an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner.&nbsp;

Before we get too deep in the rabbit hole of potential Marvel castings, Beatriz is gearing up for the seventh season of&nbsp;Brooklyn Nine-Nine, returning to NBC mid-season.&nbsp;

“I think what's going to be surprising is how much funny we can fit into each episode,” Beatriz said of the new season. “I think seven seasons in, with an ensemble that's really tight, with writers -- a head writer and show-runner, Dan Goor, who is incredible and so smart and funny, I think you're gonna get the most intense version of the show that you've ever seen.”

Stephanie Beatriz 'Would Die' to Play 'She-Hulk' in Upcoming Disney+ Series (Exclusive)

Prepare the Bantha Surprise! Jon Favreau is ready to celebrate Life Day with a new Star Wars Holiday Special.

While speaking with ET backstage at the 45th annual Saturn Awards over the weekend, Favreau expressed interest in a new iteration of the once-aired, and notoriously panned, 1978 television event.&nbsp;

"I would love to do a Holiday Special,"&nbsp;Favreau said before looking directly to camera to address fans: "If you want to see a Holiday Special, let Disney+ know."

For those unfamiliar, The Star Wars Holiday Special is a delightful mess and somewhat of a cult classic. It follows the story of Chewbacca and Han Solo&nbsp;making their way to the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk to spend "Life Day"&nbsp;with Chewie’s family. For some unknown reason, there are musical performances from Carrie Fisher, Bea Arthur and Jefferson Starship. A lot happens. It aired once, was never rebroadcast, and only manages to exist today via bootleg copies.&nbsp;

Still, the Holiday Special holds an important significance in Star Wars lore, as a cartoon segment in the special serves as the official on-screen introduction of Boba Fett.

Yes, Boba Fett was introduced in this thing. Consequently, the Holiday Special serves as a surprisingly notable influence on The Mandalorian, the upcoming live-action Star Wars series executive produced by Favreau.

"I love The Holiday Special -- certain sequences more than others,"&nbsp;said the director and producer. "I love the introduction of Boba Fett and that rifle that he had. That animated piece still holds up. It's pretty cool. I draw inspiration from that."

Another inspiring character for Favreau lies in Cara Dune, played by Gina Carano, who was on hand at the Saturn Awards to present Favreau with the Visionary Award.

"She's just incredibly fun to watch on screen," Favreau said of Carano, who makes her Star Wars universe debut in The Mandalorian. "When she falls into action mode, she's such a wonderful athlete. All of her training and background bring this authenticity to her performance on the screen."

The Mandalorian comes to Disney+ on Nov. 12.&nbsp;
