The actress also opens up about ageism in Hollywood and how she combats it.

Anne Hathaway strayed from vegan life, all thanks to her A-list co-star.

The Oscar winner covers the June issue of Tatler and the magazine notes that the actress has not only changed her lifestyle by giving up drinking, she also "stopped being vegan."

Hathaway shares with the mag that she and her husband, Adam Shulman, were dining at a Michelin-star restaurant with Matt Damon in Iceland while filming 2014's Interstellar when Damon decided to leave their meal entirely up to the chef. Soon, fish arrived at their table.

"So then I was the only chick and I'm the vegan and everyone's just going with the flow," Hathaway recalls. "So I asked [she puts on a small embarrassed voice]: 'Is your fish local?' And they said: 'Do you see that fjord?' So I had a piece of salmon and my brain felt like a computer rebooting."

Hathaway went on to talk about her big decision to stop drinking until her son, 3-year-old Jonathan, is an adult.

"My issue is I just love it. So. Much. But the way I do it makes me unavailable for my son," the 36-year-old actress tells Tatler. "My last hangover lasted for five days. I'd earned it: it was a day drinking session with friends that went into an evening birthday party with one of my drinking buddies. I will never be that person who can nurse a glass of wine throughout an entire evening."

She later jokes that, if she hadn't been an actress, she'd be "in the gutter."

"I could have seen myself being a teacher. Or going into the military. Or being some kind of do-gooder with a death wish," she explains. "But more likely than anything else I would have been an alcoholic."

During the interview, she also shares her thoughts on the immense pressure put on age in Hollywood and how she copes with it.

"I was always told that once I turned 35 I would turn into a pumpkin and never get a good part again," she shares, now a year older than this supposed cutoff date. "It makes me sad that the world tells me my skin is somehow less valuable than it used to be, but I don't listen and I don't agree. I get so tickled by being invited to the show."

Hathaway appears next in The Hustle, alongside Rebel Wilson, which arrives May 10.
