Happy Birthday, Dad!
Hoda Kotb took to Instagram over the weekend to celebrate the birthday of Joel Schiffman, her boyfriend and the father to her daughter, Haley Joy. The Today show anchor, 53, captioned the family shot, “Oh happy day!!!”
In the selfie, Hoda is holding the camera while Joel is holding up his cake and Haley is sitting in her high chair. Earlier this month, Hoda opened up to ET about her romance with Schiffman.
“I met the right man at the right time in my life, and Joel is the perfect fit for me,” she told ET. “The fact that I found the man I've dreamt of and the life I've dreamt of at this stage in my life should let other women know sometimes if you wait, it comes later."
She also opened up in January about Schiffman’s sweet reaction to the news that she wanted to adopt Haley. She told him her plan to adopt and said she wanted him to take a day to think about it.
“He looked at me and said, ‘I don’t need a day,’” she said on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “And I knew I’d chosen the right man.”
Schiffman’s name does not appear on Haley’s adoption papers, but Kotb previously told People that was to “simplify the process,” adding, “Haley will call him Dad.”
