'He encouraged her to get the help that she needs,' a source tells ET.

Britney Spears has her boyfriend's support during her treatment.

"Sam has truly been there for Britney," a source tells ET of Sam Asghari, a 25-year-old personal trainer. "He encouraged her to get the help that she needs."

"He's supported her through the difficult decision to check into a facility, and he's been there to support her throughout," the source adds.

Though, the source says, "Britney wants privacy," the 37-year-old singer knows that "she needs to do what's best for her treatment." While she's been in treatment, Spears has been on outings, including getting frozen yogurt and going to a hair salon.

"The frozen yogurt outing in Santa Monica was planned because the doctors and those closest to her are trying to encourage her to do some routine things she enjoys in order to help her get balanced and back to normal life again," the source explains.

Despite Spears' "incredibly rough road," the source says that Spears "knows it will all be worth it."

"The care she's received in the facility has helped to regulate her mood and her sleep habits," the source says. "Britney is cared for and loved, and she is getting better every day."

The source's comments come just days after Asghari told TMZ that Spears is " doing great."

"She's doing amazing. Her fans are so amazing to be so concerned but she's doing great," Asghari said. "Nobody needs to worry, she's doing amazing. She will be back soon."

Earlier this month, ET learned that Spears checked herself into a health facility to deal with tremendous stress over her father, Jamie Spears', current health crisis. A few weeks earlier, she put her career on an indefinite hiatus, postponing her album and putting her Britney: Domination show at Park Theater at the Park MGM resort in Las Vegas on hold.

Following the news, a fan podcast devoted to the singer, Britney's Gram, claimed that they received "an anonymous tip from a credible source" that the "Toxic" singer is being held against her will in the facility, and began using the #FreeBritney hashtag.

Spears' mother, Lynne Spears, has fueled the fire even more by urging others to listen to the podcast and liking Instagram comments from fans who believe its claims. Many of those fans protested in front of West Hollywood City Hall earlier this week to show their support for Spears.

There is no corroboration that Spears went into treatment against her will or is being held in the facility.
