The exes and longtime friends have stayed close since they met on the set of 'The Office.'

Mindy Kaling is seemingly shutting down feud rumors between herself and her ex and longtime friend, B.J. Novak. And, of course, the actress, writer, and producer is doing it in the most Mindy Kaling way possible.

After the celebrity gossip Instagram account Deux Moi posted that Kaling and Novak had a falling out, Kaling jokingly commented directly on the post, "OMG I haate him so much."

Fans took this playful response as a sign that The Office co-stars are not, in fact, on the outs. Kaling and Novak have a longtime friendship and he is the godfather to her two children — Katherine, 6, and Spencer, 3.

Kaling has chosen to keep the paternity of her two children private.

Both Kaling and Novak have publicly teased their complicated relationship. In 2023, Novak presented Kaling with the Norman Lear Award for Achievement in Television at the Producers Guild Awards, giving a touching speech about her.

"The first thing I noticed about Mindy in that writers' room is she cared so much about everything... her opinions were passionate and unstoppable and she cared about all the issues of the day," he said at the time. "We were in love with each other, and we were reckless idiots. The two of us would argue about all of these things forever, grinding the writers' room to a halt until we got too upset and we'd go to our respective offices and slam the door where we would continue arguing over AOL Instant Messenger."

He described their relationship as a "tumultuous, romantic, toxic, boundaryless mess," saying, "We made it work or didn't work, we made it through."

He concluded his speech, saying, "It would be tempting to tie all this together by saying how much Mindy grew up or changed since those early days. But what's more important, is how much she didn't change, no matter how much pressure she might have felt... She cares so much about everything, and I care so much about her."
