"I'm kind of a big geek," admits The Vampire Diaries star, who told ETCanada that she was over the moon when she learned that she would be filming with the one-and-only Hermione Granger for her upcoming film, The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
"I was really excited and kind of nervous to meet her. I was like, 'You gotta keep your cool. You gotta be normal. She's just a normal girl.'"
The flick, based on the best-selling novel of the same name, follows a high school freshman named Charlie (Logan Lerman) as he navigates the throes of adolescence with the help of new senior friends Patrick (Ezra Miller) and Sam (Watson), who take him under their wing.

Although Dobrev is beyond her high school years, filming the coming-of-age story in small-town Pittsburgh had the 23-year-old feeling like she was transported right back in her teens.
"None of us were over twenty-five so we couldn't rent cars," she laughs. "It kind of felt like we were back in high school again. The only thing within the vicinity were these two chain restaurants and a movie theater so, everyday, it was like, 'What are we gonna see today?'"
