West and Carter take on the iconic roles of Hollywood's most storied couple, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, in the 90-minute drama that follows their volatile private and public relationship.
This project follows Lindsay Lohan's portrayal of Elizabeth Taylor last year in the Lifetime movie Liz & Dick, receiving mixed reviews.
West and Carter's telling of this famous love story will center on the pair's ill-fated appearance in a 1983 revival of Noel Coward's Private Lives, which ran on Broadway for 63 performances.
Burton and Taylor premieres this fall on BBC America.
