Moviegoers didn't let a little fear keep them away from the theaters! With an estimated $41.5 million in ticket sales, the horror film The Conjuring ruled the weekend box office.

The film, based on a real story centered on world-renowned paranormal investigators, placed a strong first against Despicable Me 2, which took in $25 million. Not far behind, the family-friendly flick Turbo claimed third with $21.5 million.
In fourth, Grown Ups 2 laughed up $20 million, followed by Red 2 with $18.5 million.
