Shakira Talks Baby No. 2 and First Spanish Language Album in 10 Years!

The star said in an interview that she'll begin working on a Spanish album after she gives birth next year.

Pop diva and Colombian native Shakira is going back to her roots, announcing recently that her upcoming album is going to be in Spanish!

The singer-songwriter told Spain's Europa Press that she is planning on starting work on the new album after she gives birth to her baby boy early next year.

"Next year, I think after the baby is born, I’ll start producing my new album," Shakira said. "A Spanish album, which is what has me most excited right now."

It's not clear if the album with be all-Spanish, which she hasn't done since her 2005 record Fijacion Oral, Vol. 1, or if it will mix English and Spanish language tracks, a la her 2010 album Sale el Sol.

Either way, Shakira has stated on several occasions that she is a perfectionist – her latest album, which is self-titled, was released in March 2014 after two and a half years in production – so it might be safe to assume that the release of her next Spanish album could still be years away.

Shakira also opened up about her second baby, telling Europa Press that she is looking to take things easy for a while to focus on her children.

"Now that I'm pregnant I'm trying, for the first time in my life, to not do so many things at the same time," Shakira said. "Although, it’s always difficult and issues get in the way even when you don’t want them to. But the majority of the time I do dedicate myself to taking care of my belly, my pregnancy, [and] of Milan."

Milan is the first child by Shakira and her long-time boyfriend, Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique. He was born in January 2013.

Shakira announced she was pregnant
with her second child in August 2014.

"One thing is what you want and the other is what you can do," Shakira told Europa Press. "With Gerard I'd have 20 children but I don't think I'll have the luxury to do it. For now we're going for the second one, we'll see what happens. We'll see if one day we get a girl. We'll see!"
