Tyra Banks Quits Her Own Show, 'The FABLife,' After Two Months

ABC

"This is a very difficult decision, but necessary," the daytime host says.

Tyra Banks is leaving another TV show.

One month after revealing that America’s Next Top Model would come to an end after 12 years, the former model-turned-host is quitting her other show, The FABLife, which she co-hosts with, among others, Chrissy Teigen.

“This is a very difficult decision, but necessary," Banks told ET in a statement. "I will be devoting more time to my new, growing cosmetics company, TYRA Beauty, which is expanding faster than anticipated.”

Meanwhile, a source close to the show tells ET that Banks had been "made promises" by ABC to lure her back to daytime, indicating that she would be given freedom to chart the creative direction of the show. The source says Banks found that not to be the case.

Banks' statement goes on to explain that she will also be “overseeing” her company’s other “entertainment ventures." "I will however continue to support the growth and success of FABLife and greatly admire my fellow co-hosts and the talented production team behind the show," she said.

A rep for The FABLife confirms that Banks' role is "scaling back," but says she will still "have a presence."

Meanwhile, the ANTM guru has turned to social media to recruit for TYRA Beauty, hoping to grow her team of “Beautytainers.” Banks says that working for her “is indeed a very fierce experience” and that the only requirement is, “You’ve just gotta do you, and work your biz, the way you wanna run it.”

For those wondering, here is the TYRA Beauty Mani-FIERCE-to:

“We are an army of fierceness. We embrace thick and small booties, lips nude and bright red, narrow hips and ones widespread, smoky eyes but not to bed, small, medium, and big foreheads! We believe beauty is in the smize of the beholder; perfect is boring, flawsome is beautiful. We werk hallways like runways; we hold onto the handlebars of fierceness, we never let go. We’re obsessed with beautytainment. Others zig, we zag. We give the power to turn fantasies into realities, making the world a fiercer place, one Tyover at a time.”

That manifesto contained five made up words and three uses of “fierce.”
