Caitlyn Jenner Celebrates Her 'First Birthday' 1 Year After 'Vanity Fair' Cover: 'I Can't Believe It'

Happy "first birthday," Caitlyn Jenner!

The 66-year-old former Olympian shared a video to Instagram on Wednesday reflecting on the one-year anniversary of the historic Vanity Fair cover where she introduced herself to the world, writing, "Can't believe it's been one year since the @vanityfair cover. So happy, best year of my life #happyfirstbirthday #callmecait #learningtolive."

"I can't believe it... What a year," Jenner says in the video. "Nothing like living your life authentically."

The past year has seen transgender rights and issues at the forefront of national conversations, and Jenner's transition has played no small role in that increased visibility. The reality star's groundbreaking 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer last May -- which shined a light on the transgender community at large -- was watched by over 17 million people and was honored at the 2016 GLAAD Awards for Outstanding TV Journalism - Newsmagazine.

Jenner opened up to ET backstage at the New York City awards ceremony last month, saying, "I really wanted it to not just be about me."

"I wanted it about this community and about the struggles and the difficulties, and to help people understand what being gender dysphoric, transgender -- whatever you want to call it -- is," she continued.
