Jimmy Fallon promised us a star-studded Golden Globes opening and he did not disappoint.

While Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Ricky Gervais opted to roast the biggest stars in the room in previous years, Fallon played it safe with a number that saw him singing and dancing his way to the show -- with appearances by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Amy Adams, and even Fey herself.

The bit was a play on La La Land and featured Nicole Kidman dancing down the red carpet while singing about Spanx, The People v. O.J. Simpson cast boasting that "not all the nominees are white," a Jon Snow joke and the kids from Stranger Things performing a rap that resurrected Barb.

As with most things in life, Ryan Reynolds steals the show.

When Fallon took the stage, he riffed on Ryan Gosling -- "Don't Google Ryan Gosling pianist. It's an HR nightmare." -- compared Trump to Game of Thrones' King Joffrey, and did a Chris Rock impression about not thanking O.J. Simpson. And what would a Golden Globes be without a savage Ben Affleck joke?

"We all remember Matt Damon from his greatest acting role," Fallon quipped. "Telling Ben Affleck that he liked Batman v Superman."
