EXCLUSIVE: Nicole Murphy Is Sexy and Single at 49! How She's Flipping the Script on Aging

ET chatted with Eddie Murphy's ex-wife about her search for love and her next chapter.

Nicole Murphy wants to change the way we think about aging.

The model-turned-fitness entrepreneur turns 50 next year, but she’s currently in the best shape of her life.

“I cannot believe I'm going to be 50,” she tells ET. “I just remember, as a kid looking at people who were turning 50, or you know, in their 40s, I was like, they're old! … I had to change it. You know, us 40-year-olds, we gotta keep it together and keep it right.”

The former Hollywood Exes star isn’t shy about flaunting her figure, rocking swimsuits on Instagram and figure-hugging fashions on the red carpet. ET chatted with the mom of five at the Associates for Breast and Prostate Cancer Studies' annual Mother's Day luncheon in Beverly Hills, California, on Wednesday.

“I think it's the greatest gift that a woman can ever have … to be a mother,” Murphy shares. “To see this child come out of you, and see it grow and turn into a beautiful person, or a handsome young man, is unbelievable.”

Murphy’s tips for moms who might be looking at her for aging inspiration are simple.

“First of all, you gotta love yourself,” she says. “Second of all, don't let fear hold you back. And third, I would say exercise! Make sure you exercise.”

MORE: Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan Split

Murphy split from husband Eddie Murphy back in 2006, and most recently dated Good Morning America’s Michael Strahan from 2009 until 2014. But today, she says she’s single -- and ready to mingle!

“I'm looking for somebody who's got their stuff together,” she confesses. “Who's smart, who likes to have fun, who likes to travel and he's gotta be somewhat good looking. Or, a nice body. At least a decent body … They don't have to be all that, but they can be decent.”
