'DWTS' Family Weighs In On Demi Moore Controversy

Current Dancing with the Stars cast members and past contestants recently came together to attend Maksim Chermokovskiy's big birthday bash at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York, where more than just dancing were on their minds given the recent release of Demi Moore's shocking 911 call.

Demi Moore 911 Call: The Details

"Well first of all, I wish that some situations in life probably would have been better left to be dealt with in private but having said that, from what I know of her and people that know her, she's an incredibly strong and very powerful woman," Maksim told ET. "Dealing with everything she's been through the past months, you know, she's going to bounce back. I wish her health and I wish her to recover."

Maksim's former partner Kirstie Alley has an even more personal connection to the story, given that she herself has previously struggled with addiction.

"I was a cocaine addict [but] I didn't really go through my addiction when I was an actress -- I went through it before so it wasn't really in the public eye," Kirstie sympathized.

Kirstie Alley Looking for Love

"You know, I think we all go through tough times in our lives. Demi's a very smart and insightful girl and she will work through it, I have no doubts. I love you Demi!," she added.

On a lighter note, check out the video to hear what both Maksim's former partners Kirstie and Erin Andrews' advice is for his next DWTS partner, and which football star Tony Dovolani thinks would probably win DWTS.

Dancing with the Stars season 14 premieres March 19 on ABC.
