FLASHBACK: Kevin Sorbo Was the Hunkiest Hercules Ever

ETONLINE

On set with Kevin Sorbo for his '90s Hercules TV show.

"Only one man dared to challenge their power… Hercules!"

Does that ring a bell? Yes, we're talking about the beloved '90s television series, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys starring the hunky Kevin Sorbo. The show is turning the big 2-0, so we're flashing back to 1995 when ET was on set with the man, the myth, the legend.

Back then, the show was just starting out and Sorbo was excited to master his moves and perform his own stunts – but that doesn't mean there weren't a few scrapes and bruises along the way.

"Oh, I got kicked right in the face!” Sorbo told ET two decades ago. "I had to fight a 400 pound New Zealand weight lifting champion, and he caught me flush in the face and took me out."

Ouch! But not to worry, Sorbo shook it off. After all, the role was a chance of a lifetime for a true Herc fan like him.

"It's great! I get to kick butt and I get paid for it. It's re-living my childhood, I swear to god I am," Sorbo said. "I'm Sinbad all over again, and I used to watch the shows all the time, and now I get to do it."

The hit fantasy series went on for six seasons, garnering Herc plenty of attention from the ladies.

"If that's the crown and the cross I have to bear, give it to me, I'll take it," Sorbo said. "I mean that's flattering! Who wouldn't be flattered by that?"

These days, there's no slowing Sorbo down. He currently has 20 (yes, 20!) projects in the works.
