Why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Watch 'The Crown' Together (Exclusive)

The engaged couple lead a very regular home life.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have previously expressed that they share many regular and low-key nights within the confines of Nottingham Cottage.

In fact, the 33-year-old royal and his fiancee are so comfortable together that, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl, author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, they lead a very normal home life and even snuggle up and watch The Crown together.

"One of the lovely things that I discovered in the book about their courtship, and the romance, was just how ordinary it was. Prince Harry proposed while they were roasting a chicken, but what was so lovely was that they just had a very normal courtship," Nicholl exclusively explained to ET on Tuesday. "It was all behind the closed doors of the palace or Meghan's Toronto apartment. But when she came over and stayed with Prince Harry at Nottingham Cottage, I was told that they loved nothing more than cooking some nice food, catching up on Netflix and watching The Crown, which they apparently watch together."

While it hasn’t been confirmed by the royal family that they watch the hit Netflix series about the life of Queen Elizabeth II, Meghan watching the show makes sense.

"I suppose it must be strange to sit down and watch a Netflix show about your very own family," Nicholl said. "But, possibly it was quite a good way to introduce Meghan to royal life and give her a little bit of royal history."

Additionally, per Nicholl's book, Meghan was "so at home at Nottingham Cottage that she had a wardrobe of clothes in Harry’s closet and had flown several more suitcases of belongings over."

"She referred to Kensington Palace as 'home,' and there were reports in the press that she had unofficially moved in with Harry. She had certainly transformed Nottingham Cottage, tastefully adding some feminine touches to the bachelor décor, including fresh flowers, organic cookbooks and her favorite Le Labo Santal 26 scented candles," reads an excerpt of the book. "An accomplished cook, Meghan loved to make extravagant dinners for Harry, and they enjoyed staying in and eating her delicious homemade meals."

Meanwhile, as they get ready for their May 19 nuptials, Harry is already thinking about starting a family.

"My sources are saying that Prince Harry, particularly, is very keen to start a family, pretty soon after the royal wedding," Nicholl shared. "He's made no secret about wanting children."

"I think that moment [for Harry] really kicked in when his brother, Prince William, of course, settled down with Kate Middleton," Nicholl said. "That has definitely gotten Prince Harry pretty broody."
