Gayle King Is a Grandma Again! Daughter Kirby Gives Birth to Baby Girl

King's daughter, Kirby, welcomed her first child in September 2021.

Gayle King rang in this year's Mother's Day with an extra special addition -- her second grandchild! On Sunday, the 69-year-old CBS Mornings anchor shared on Instagram that her daughter, Kirby Bumpus, recently welcomed her second child with husband Virgil Miller -- a baby girl named Grayson Miller.

"Best Mother's Day EVER!! My fav daughter @kirbybump & husband Virgil Miller welcomed their (fav) daughter and now Luca is a big brother! Fav GRANDAUGHTER GRAYSON has arrived!" Gayle captioned the sweet gallery Instagram post on Sunday. The first slide of the photo carousel featured a snapshot of King, Kirby and the star of the moment, baby Grayson.

Other photos featured Luca, Virgil, Gayle's "favorite son," William Bumpus Jr., and his fiancée, Elise Smith

Gayle shares her two children with her ex-husband, William Bumpus Sr., whom she was married to from 1982 to 1993.

The beloved broadcast journalist added: "AND today is Kirby's birthday so much to celebrate! With people I love the most... fav son @willgb3 and his lovely fiance @elisemariesmith"

Kirby and Virgil tied the knot in December 2020 and welcomed Luca in September 2021. Shortly after her daughter gave birth, Gayle told ET about the joys of seeing her daughter become a mother.

"We're very excited about Luca, but there's something about seeing your own child become a mother that I can't even explain it, what that feels like, what that looks like. And she's so good. She's so good!" she expressed. "I always say, 'Kirby, you are your mother's daughter.' But we just love this little boy. We just love him."

She also previously told ET that she was still testing out names, noting that she wasn't too keen on being called "grandma."

"I'm trying to decide. I don't want to be called 'grandma' or 'nana' because that just sounds -- no offense to the grandmas or nanas, no offense -- but I'm looking for a nice grandma name," she said.

"Maybe the baby will make up something," she added. "Maybe my favorite grandson, Luca, will come up with something for me."

The good news keeps coming for Gayle and her family! Back in February, she shared on Instagram that Will popped the question to Elise at a stunning location, where she and others were watching in the wings.

"It has happened! Favorite son @willgb3 has found his person and I now have a favorite daughter-in-law to be. The lovely @elisemariesmith!" the journalist wrote in a post. "There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen and a lot of planning went into this moment, so here’s some behind the scenes…now just waiting for the date of the wedding! 👰🏽‍♀️🤵🏽‍♂️."

In a carousel post featuring photos and videos from the day, Gayle shared a picture of the happy couple after Elise accepted the proposal, along with hilarious behind-the-scenes videos of before, during, and after the question had been asked and answered.

"Behind the scenes of the proposal," Gayle said in the first video, which showed Oprah Winfrey scouting locations for the photographer to hide so that Elise was not tipped off.

"What's your suggestion Oprah on where Brett [the photographer] should be?" Gayle asked as Oprah hid behind shrubbery to conceal herself.

Another video in the post showed the group watching the proposal through a window and one member of the party even being scolded for trying to open a window in order to listen in on the private moment between the now-engaged couple.

After showing off several of her son and soon-to-be daughter-in-law's engagement photos, Gayle attached a video of the group -- which also included Kirby and Luca -- applauding and going in to inspect the gorgeous ring on Elise finger.

The final slide showed Gayle with Will, Elise, and Luca, as well as a shot of the entire group holding up champagne glasses in celebration of the happy couple.

Congratulations to the growing family!
