The couple officially launched their relationship on social media in 2023.

Selena Gomez can't contain her excitement when discussing her new single, "Love On," and her blossoming relationship with music producer Benny Blanco.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1's New Music Daily, Gomez expressed her admiration for Blanco, describing their relationship as "lovely" and emphasizing the sense of safety she feels with him.

"Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone who respects you," she said. "And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome."

Following months of speculation, Gomez and Blanco confirmed their relationship in December 2023. Despite only making their romance public recently, the pair have actually known each other for quite some time, having collaborated on Gomez's 2019 song, "I Can't Get Enough."

In addition to discussing her relationship, Gomez opened up about the inspiration behind her latest single. She revealed that the song was influenced by her time spent in Paris last year.

"The idea is that I was inspired a lot by living in Paris, that for two months I had to work there and I loved just the quality of life and how romantic it felt," she explained. "And then to kind of feel really happy in my life and actually mean it is so, it’s just like you can tell in my video, I’m just smiling the whole time. It’s such a good feeling."

The "Love On" music video was directed by French director Greg Ohrel. According to Gomez's music label, Interscope, the track is an "anthemic pop song, inspired by all the time Selena has spent in Paris last year. Throughout the lyrics, Gomez emphasizes the romance of the Parisian lifestyle and the thrill of sharing a new love."

Ahead of the release of the song, Gomez shared a handful of photos from her long weekend in France, including one shot of her modeling on a cobblestone street with the iconic Eiffel Tower in the background, filling the skyline.

One of the steamier shots included a photo of the Only Murders in the Building star sitting nude in a luxurious hotel bathtub, facing away from the camera with strategically placed bubbles.
