Billie Eilish Recalls 'Crazy Ghosting' By Someone She Knew 'For Years': 'Did You Literally Die?'

Billie Eilish revealed one of her worst ghosting experiences.

Dating isn’t easy for Billie Eilish either.

The 22-year-old singer recently revealed one of her worst ghosting experiences while appearing on the BBC podcast Miss Me? with hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver.

"[I've] been ghosted for sure," Eilish admitted. "I had a crazy ghosting happen actually this December. It was insane."

The Happier Than Ever artist explained that she had made firm plans with this mystery man, whom she had known for years. "I was like, 'Did you die? Did you literally die?' On the phone, making a plan, this is my address, be there at 3 -- never heard from him again. Ever," she recalled in disbelief.

"I couldn't believe it. I was like, 'What a f**king little, pathetic man. What a tiny, little man,'" Eilish continued, still seemingly baffled by the situation. "It was literally unbelievable. To this day, never texted me again."

The seven-time GRAMMY winner admitted she later discovered the ghosting culprit had moved on to a new relationship. "I did see that he was dating someone. And I was like, 'Oh.' I genuinely didn't know people did that."

As for dating, Eilish is not up for it -- at least not right now.

The "Ocean Eyes" singer joked as much in a recent Rolling Stone interview. The excerpt didn't make the magazine's May cover story -- the third of her career -- but the outlet has since published her dating quotes on its website. Under the subhead, "She currently has no interest in dating," the singer expanded on the subject.

"I plan on never dating again," she joked. "That's not true, obviously. But no, I don't see myself being serious with anyone until I find someone that really feels right to me, and that is not interesting to me right now."

Under that same subhead, Eilish confirmed she's on "good terms" with her ex, Jesse Rutherford.

"That's my guy, truly one of my favorite people in the world," she said.

As ET confirmed in spring 2023, Eilish and Rutherford split after less than a year of dating.

"We can confirm Billie and Jesse did split amicably and remain good friends," their reps told ET in a statement at the time. "All cheating rumors are false. Both are currently single."

Eilish and Rutherford first sparked dating rumors in October 2022. Following their split -- though they remain super friendly -- Eilish attended Rutherford's &ONE album listening party in August, where she sang and danced along to his song, "Turn Heel."

In a video shared on social media, Eilish and Rutherford were seen rocking out together in a bowling alley and playing right to the camera as the pop star got a name-check with the line: "I just got a text from Billie."

That playful moment came after Eilish publicly addressed the split on her Instagram Story, where one fan asked her about her relationship with The Neighbourhood frontman.

Eilish answered, "Very very good friends only. My homie forever."

Since the split, Eilish has opened up about her sexuality, which she underscored in her racy song, "Lunch," about her crushing on a girl. The track is off her third album, Hit Me Hard and Soft.

"That song was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real," Eilish told Rolling Stone. "I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after."

The singer, who has not officially put a label on her sexuality, added, "I've been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn't understand -- until, last year, I realized I wanted my face in a vagina. I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It's really frustrating to me that it came up."

It came up during a red carpet interview with Variety, which discussed her attraction to women. Eilish later reacted to the interview on Instagram.

"Thanks Variety for my award and also outing me on a red carpet at 11 a.m. instead of talking about anything else that matters," she wrote. "I like boys and girls leave me alone about it please literally who cares."
