The couple sang their new single, 'Purple Irises,' live for the first time.

Gwen Stefani had an extra special guest for her big show on Sunday, with husband Blake Shelton joining her to perform their new duet on the NFL's Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate.

The pop star, 54, hit the stage in a two-piece black and white outfit as the pregame event's headliner at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her set included old favorites like "Make Me Like You" and "Don't Speak" as well as the very first live performance of her new single, "Purple Irises."

Shelton, 47, sported an all-black outfit for the performance and brought out his guitar to strum along to their new song on stage in front of a massive TikTok audience.

The couple dropped their sweet new song on Friday, adding to their growing list of collaborations. Last year, they rerecorded the iconic 1984 ballad "Love Is Alive" for The Judds tribute album. Before that, they worked together on "Go Ahead and Break My Heart" in 2016, "You Make It Feel Like Christmas" in 2017, "Nobody But You" in 2019, and "Happy Anywhere" in 2020.

With "Purple Irises," Stefani and Shelton harmonize as they reflect on the passage of time in a relationship and sticking with the one you love.

"'Purple Irises' is a song that comes from the idea that when you plant something you are planting hope and watching love grow," Stefani said in a press release on Friday. "Weathering all the different seasons of growth. We are in this together, we planted the seeds together and we are growing together."

Shelton added, "We both love this song so much."

As the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the San Francisco 49ers for the big game, several of the music industry's biggest stars have been tapped to participate in the festivities. Shelton's The Voice replacement, Reba McEntire, will perform the national anthem, while Post Malone sings "America the Beautiful" and Andra Day takes on "Lift Every Voice and Sing."

As for the Apple Music Super Bowl LVIII Halftime Show, Usher is on tap to hit the stage and has confirmed that he's bringing some of his famous friends along for the ride.

"It will definitely be an event," the star recently told Billboard. "There are special guests. And I've considered new songs. But you know, it's 12 to 15 minutes. So it's really hard to determine what moment matters more than others, especially with a new song. But there's the dance, the wardrobe, the lighting, how long you stay in a song, the fact that the audience may sing along … It's a lot. So I'm trying my hardest not to overthink it."

Usher's long list of past collaborators includes Lil Jon, Ludacris, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber and Alicia Keys, just to name a few.
