Camila Cabello is heading to the big screen!

The 22-year-old singer is set to star in a new iteration of Cinderella, director Kay Cannon confirmed on Twitter on Tuesday. Cannon, who wrote Pitch Perfect, will also write the script for the upcoming project, ET has learned.

The film is based on an original idea from James Corden, who will be producing alongside Leo Pearlman of Fulwell 73. Cabello will also be integrally involved in creating new music for the movie, which has been fast-tracked for production.

"Havana-ya-ya-ya-yay!!!!@Camila_Cabello @JKCorden #femalefilmaker #director #writer," Cannon wrote on Twitter

Cabello recently revealed to ET that she's also working hard on her second solo album, following 2018's Camila.

"I look at making music like when there's a fruit bowl, and people are painting it, trying to draw it exactly like it looks," she said during an intimate chat at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles in February. "To me, music is kind of the same way. It's like, you have a memory and your job is to paint that memory, but onto music."

"Lately, a common message in the music I'm writing now is kind of emotional intensity," she continued. "And just not being afraid to really be passionate about life, about someone. I think probably the main common message in my music is it's important to be vulnerable and to just be as me as possible in my music."
