Jessica Simpson Says Daughter Maxwell Can Walk a Runway 'Better Than Her Mama' (Exclusive)

The proud mom spoke with ET at a fashion show for her new clothing collection.

Jessica Simpson's adorable daughter, Maxwell, may have a real future in the spotlight.

ET caught up with the fashion designer at the Jessica Simpson Collection fashion show at Dillard's in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, and she joked about having to keep her 5-year-old little girl in the dark about the event.

"She doesn't really know that I'm here doing this because she would be very sad that she is not the star of the show," shared Simpson. "She would have been guiding people and telling them how to do the hip stance."

"She has it down better than her mama!" she added with a smile.

Simpson explained that, after Maxwell walked a runway show as a model for her mom's clothing a year ago, the young aspiring star has been dying to do it again, and she's been treating every day like it's her own personal fashion show.

"She just does it every day to be honest, like there is no stopping her," Simpson joked. "I don't know what else to do, it is out of my control."

Although the proud mom admitted that she wouldn't frown on the idea of Maxwell -- or her 4-year-old son Ace -- following in her entertainment footsteps.

"I would definitely embrace my children to being performers," the 37-year-old actress shared. "To m,e they're like the stars of my life, so I would love for the world to see what I see."

As for her fashion show in Nashville, Tennessee, Simpson decided employed military wives and children to model her new collection, and she says the whole day was really an opportunity to honor "all the ladies and the children at [U.S. Army base] Fort Campbell."

"My best friend is a military wife and I have seen first-hand the sacrifices these women make and I just wanted to celebrate them today," Simpson added.
