'Athlete A' Producer Jennifer Sey Addresses Alleged Abuse in Gymnastics and Why She Demands Change

Former gymnast Jennifer Sey opened up to ET’s Deidre Behar about the culture surrounding the world of competitive gymnastics in the wake of the Larry Nassar scandal in the Netflix documentary she produced, ‘Athlete A,’ which is streaming now. The former gymnast detailed her own experience in the sport and explained why she’s so passionate about enacting change. Sey recounted her experience making the documentary with elite gymnasts like Maggie Nichols, Rachael Denhollander and Jamie Dantzscher, and shared what she thinks needs to happen to prevent future gymnasts from experiencing pain, suffering and abuse.
