CODA star Troy Kotsur can't help but feel incredibly studious after walking the red carpet at the 94th Academy Awards. It's certainly a well-earned bliss. Kotsur spoke to ET's Kevin Frazier and Nischelle Turner on Sunday and, when asked about what it's like attending the ceremony -- where CODA is nominated for Best Picture -- the 53-year-old actor likened it to earning a prestigious accolade, at five times the rate. "It feels like -- you know I feel like I'm receiving five honorary PHDs tonight," said Kotsur through his interpreter. "Like I'm a doctor now if you know what I mean. It's just been a long and tough journey and it's such a blessing for me to be here and I really can't believe it." Kotsur, nominated for Actor in a Supporting Role, also opened up about what it would mean if the film snagged the Best Picture award. "I feel, of course, honored to be recognized because obviously people are [remembering the] message not to forget -- to love and cherish your family no matter what language you use," he said. The Sian Heder-directed film -- which is also up for Best Adapted Screenplay -- also stars Marlee Matlin who, through an interpreter, said a nomination would be a huge boost for her community and the disability community. CODA, an acronym which stands for Child of Deaf Adults, follows Emilia Jones as Ruby Rossi, the main character who is coming of age with a talented voice as she hopes to embark on a career in singing.
