‘Judas and the Black Messiah:' Shaka King and Dominique Fishback on How the Film Changed Them

2:50 PM PST, Wed Feb 10, 2021
ET's Melicia Johnson spoke with 'Judas and the Black Messiah's director, Shaka King, and star Dominique Fishback about how working on this film changed who they are in their everyday lives. Inspired by true life events, 'Judas and the Black Messiah' stars Daniel Kaluuya as civil rights leader Fred Hampton, the deputy chairman of the Black Panther Party, who was assassinated in 1969. William O'Neal, played by LaKeith Stanfield, is the 'Judas' in the film. He was an informant coerced by the FBI to infiltrate the Black Panther Party. O'Neal provided the tip to the government that led the Chicago police to raid Hampton's apartment, which resulted in him being shot and killed at the age of 21. Shaka King’s 'Judas and the Black Messiah' hits theaters and HBO Max on Feb. 12.
