‘Twister’ turns 25! Back in 1996, Bill Paxton walked ET through the destruction sets of the tornado thriller. The late actor and Helen Hunt drove through a house in one memorable scene, and he literally climbs onto the upside-down floors to give the tour! Between flying cows, a horrible night at the drive-in theater and exploding tanker trucks, audiences hadn’t been this frightened of the weather phenomena since ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ While making the movie, Paxton said he realized that ‘Twister’ might do for tornadoes what ‘Jaws’ did for sharks. He also pitched his idea for the movie’s theme park attraction, which came full circle when Paxton later starred in the film’s ride at Universal Studios!
