Meghan Markle Is Not Yet in Labor, Source Says
Baby Sussex isn't here quite yet!
Meghan Markle has not given birth to Baby Sussex just yet.
Despite speculation that the Duchess of Sussex is in labor, a royal source tells ET that that is not the case. The rumors began after her husband, Prince Harry, postponed his scheduled trip to Amsterdam.
"Prince Harry has decided to postpone his trip to Amsterdam next week," a source tells ET, adding the change is due to other events on the royal calendar. "Prince Harry has not changed plans for his Thursday trip to The Hague for the launch of the 2020 Invictus Games."
The source adds that Harry's trip to The Hague could still be canceled if necessary, depending on when Meghan gives birth. Those decisions will be made in due course," the source says.
"Invictus Games are incredibly important to the Duke of Sussex and if he can be there he will," the source says.
Likewise, a spokesperson for the duke and duchess tells ET that Harry's Amsterdam trip was postponed due to "logistical planning."
"Due to the logistical planning for the traveling press to cover visits and engagements by The Royal Family, we have taken the decision to postpone The Duke of Sussex’s scheduled visit to Amsterdam on Wednesday 8th May 2019," the statement reads. "The Duke is currently scheduled to travel to The Hague on Thursday 9th May for the launch of the Invictus Games The Hague 2020 as planned."
More Baby Sussex rumors swirled on Friday when Queen Elizabeth's car and protection detail were seen on the grounds of Windsor Castle. Police outriders were also spotted escorting the queen to St. George’s Chapel, which is near Harry and Meghan's home at Frogmore Cottage. Those events led media outlets to report the queen was making a visit and prompted many to speculate Baby Sussex could have already been born.
The queen's arrival, however, was not out of the norm, as she normally spends weekends at Windsor when she’s not in residence at Sandringham or Balmoral. The queen, who spends weekdays at Buckingham Palace, has always referred to Windsor as home, a royal source tells ET.
The queen was, in fact, attending a service at St. George’s Chapel for a Royal Victorian Order ceremony and was not there to visit Harry and Meghan, the source says.
The queen's attendance at the ceremony came after she recently bestowed Kate Middleton the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order. The Duchess of Cambridge's latest distinction, which was made personally by the queen, came on her eighth wedding anniversary to Prince William and was given in recognition for her service to the sovereign.
