Fans think the new ink might be in reference to a lyric from her song, "Mother's Daughter."

Miley Cyrus is embracing her freedom! The 27-year-old "Mother's Daughter" singer showed off her new ink on social media courtesy of Winter Stone.

The L.A.-based tattoo artist posted photos of Cyrus' new body art on his Instagram account, showing the word "freedom" written in script across her left fist.

Will & Grace star Debra Messing commented on the pics, writing: "Rad."

Many have speculated that the message of Cyrus' new tattoo comes from her song, "Mother's Daughter," which starts with the line, "So don't f**k with my freedom."

She also had a handwritten note from Yoko Ono tattooed on her shoulder that reads, "'I'm proud of U. Yoko.'"

Winter Stone has tattooed many celebrities including Chrissy Teigen, Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, John Legend, Mandy Moore, Joe Jonas, Sophie Turner, Emma Roberts and more.

The new ink comes just a few months after news of Cyrus' split from husband Liam Hemsworth was announced. In the subsequent months, the singer moved on to reality star Kaitlynn Carter and now is dating musician Cody Simpson.

The pair have dialed back their PDA-happy social media posts, but did spend Thanksgiving together with Cyrus' family.

They also rang in Cyrus' 27th birthday together last month in Nashville, Tennessee.

"Happy birthday baby. Thanks for being you," Simpson wrote at the time.

In addition to her new ink, Cyrus also got a new hairstyle thanks to her mom, Tish. Check it out:
