'The Details' of Laura Linney's Career

'The Details' of Laura Linney's Career

I've been mildly obsessed with Laura Linney from the first moment I saw her on screen, in 1996's Primal Fear (and that's saying something considering Primal Fear also marked Edward Norton's film debut). Since then, Linney has jumped from genre to genre, stage to screen, collecting three Tony, three Academy Award and six Golden Globe nominations along the way.

Two of those Globe nods came for her role as Cathy Jamison on Showtime's sensational The Big C (for which she also scored an Emmy nomination), which will conclude its four season run next year with four hour-long episodes. Linney recently opened up about the end of Cathy's journey when I sat down with her to talk about The Details.

The stark-black comedy stars Linney as Lila (a character she adorably declares "insane") and Tobey Maguire as Jeff, a morally ambiguous married man who spends his days obsessing over a family of raccoons tearing up his backyard. However, Jeff's poor animal instincts set off an unpredictable series of events that forever alters the course of his life.

The Details is now in theaters and On Demand.
