This Is What the Cast of 'Now and Then' Looked Like Then and Now

It's the 20th anniversary of the Christina Ricci and Rosie O'Donnell movie.

“I say we make a pact. Here and now. We're here for each other, always, no matter what happens in life.”

It has been 20 years to the day since Now and Then premiered, but we still hold a special place in our hearts for the coming-of-age saga and the ladies of Shelby, Indiana. Here’s what did happen in life for the cast over the past two decades. (With one notable exception: Ashleigh Aston Moore, who played young Chrissy, died in 2007.)

EXCLUSIVE: Leonardo DiCaprio Was Supposed to Be in 'Now and Then'!

Also, here’s a fun game to play: The “grown up” versions of the characters are 20 years older than their younger counterparts in the movie. How much does Christina Ricci now really look like Rosie O’Donnell then?

Ricci played the murderous Lizzie Borden in the Lifetime movie, Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, and then reprised the role in their mini-series, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles. Next, she’ll play Zelda Fitzgerald on Amazon’s Z.

Thora Birch (Teeny)

Birch returned to acting after a few years away with a guest-starring role on USA’s alien-invasion drama, Colony.

Gaby Hoffmann (Samantha)

Hoffman was Emmy-nominated for her guest-starring role as Adam Driver’s sister on Girls, as well as her work on Transparent. She’s also popped up on the big screen, in movies like Veronica Mars and Wild.

Rosie plays Rita Hendricks on ABC Family's The Fosters. She briefly returned to The View -- though that proved tumultuous -- and is performing stand-up again. She’s also very active on Twitter @Rosie.

Melanie Griffith (Teeny)

Griffith has had a few acting roles in recent years -- she guest-starred on Hawaii Five-0! -- but has gotten more attention for whether or not she ever saw her daughter, Dakota Johnson, in Fifty Shades of Grey.

Demi Moore (Samantha)

Moore rarely acts these days. (She did do that movie, LOL, with Miley Cyrus a few years ago. Remember?) She’s more likely to be found on a red carpet supporting one of her daughters, instead. An unfortunate note: A man was found dead in her pool this past summer.

Rita Wilson (Chrissy)

Wilson still acts (she's a scene stealer as Allison William’s mom on Girls!), still makes music (watch her video for “Girls Night In”!), and is still married to Tom Hanks, making her the luckiest woman alive.

Devon Sawa (Scott Wormer)

Sawa starred on The CW's Nikita until 2013, and last year, welcomed his first son, Hudson. (Fun fact: Now and Then came out the same year as Sawa’s other most famous movie: Casper!)

Janeane Garofalo (Wiladene)

Garofalo was one of the original stars of Bravo’s Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, but departed halfway through the first season. She recently reprised her role as Beth in Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp on Netflix.

Cloris Leachman (Grandma Albertson)

Leachman has continued being a damn national treasure and probably works more than everyone on this list combined (on TV in shows like Girl Meets World and movies like Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse). She’s also the oldest contestant to have ever competed on Dancing With the Stars.

Brendan Fraser (Vietnam Veteran)

Fraser starred in a History Channel mini-series called Texas Rising, where he played a character named Billy Anderson and wore his hair in braided piggy tails. (Did you know Leo DiCaprio was actually supposed to play the Vietnam vet role?!)

Rumer Willis (Angela Albertson)

Yes, that’s a six-year-old Rumer Willis in her first ever role. More recently, she won the 20th season of Dancing With the Stars and starred as Roxy in Chicago on Broadway.

In other movie anniversary news, Clueless turned 20 this year too! Here’s what the cast thinks of the movie looking back now:
