The comedian also revealed that 'Inside Amy Schumer' will not be coming back in the near future.

Amy Schumer made it very clear during an interview with Charlie Rose on Thursday night that she does not share the same views as Inside Amy Schumer writer Kurt Metzger.

Metzger has been on a Facebook rant ever since he came under fire for a series of tweets and social media posts that seemed to criticize rape victims who waited years to come forward with their stories. "That is not representative of me at all," the 35-year-old comedian -- who was a victim of domestic abuse herself -- told Rose. “I’ve asked him, ‘Can you just stop?'"

"He baits people,” Schumer added. “He’s the problem, no question, but the focus is on him rather than on what the really -- the real main problem is.”

Rose followed up by asking if Schumer meant "a smart understanding of what rape has become,” to which she responded, “To focus your energy on online trolling, if I did that, I wouldn’t get anything done. Let’s focus on actually getting the problem done.”

She continued, "Whatever tangent he’s gone off on, I have not agreed, and it’s been really upsetting to me seeing someone that I care about hurt themselves like this.”

That being said, Schumer explained that it's Metzger's controversial opinions that make him a good writer for her Comedy Central show. "One of the reasons he’s such a great writer, and such a great contributor to our television show, is because his views are so different from that of mine and most of the other writers in the room,” Schumer said. “Especially Jessi Klein, who’s the head writer of the show. We butt heads, we get in fights, because he infuriates us."

As for the future of Inside Amy Schumer, the Trainwreck star didn't offer any hope the series would be returning for a fifth season anytime soon. "Right now there are no plans for the TV show to come back in the near future, so nobody is on my staff,” she shared. “There are no writers. People, they want [Metzger's] head; they want to burn him at the stake. I want them to not attach me to what he’s writing.”
