The 35-year-old fashionista has not put out a new album since the release of Happy Christmas in 2010, and hasn't performed in years. But that's all about to change.
On Tuesday night, Simpson shared yet another photo of herself in the studio. "Maze to create," she captioned the Instagram image.
This pic comes just a week after Simpson revealed that she was working with rocker Linda Perry.

Fans can also look forward to a live performance by the mother-of-two. On Friday, Aug. 26, Simpson is scheduled to take the stage on the Today show in New York City as part of their summer concert series.
In September 2015, Simpson opened up to the morning program about her music career, revealing that her husband and two kids haven’t known her as a recording artist. “I recorded a Christmas album with him, but he has never really seen me onstage, and do my thing that actually got me here," she said of husband Eric Johnson. "That's how I started, and that's one of my biggest passions in the world. I love to use my voice."
